detroit art Installation.

The dismantled state of the building has become an ordinary sight of everyday life in the Detroit Hamtramack area.

In effort to bring life to unknown parts of the city, an abondoned dollar store located in the downtown area served as a collaborative space. Hamtramack is a small borough surrounded by the city Detroit rich in history and a unique diverse culture. Hamtramack was originally settled by German farmers, but Polish immigrants flooded into the area when the Dodge brothers automotive plant opened in 1914, making it Michigan’s most internationally diverse city.

The ephemeral sculpture is made of automotive droppings found throughout the city; recycled car materials, drafting paper, aluminum and foam.
